Beginning June 2026, South River Miso is offering limited summertime shipping on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our new, compostable foam packaging and a special 2nd Day Air flat rate shipping service that we have negotiated with UPS, have allowed us to offer the 4-jar bundle for sale this summer.
Please note that the 4-jar bundle is the only type of order that we will be shipping during this summer season. Other product orders will not fit within the parameters that make the 2nd Day Air flat rate shipping possible.
As many of our customers know, we do not ship via ground service in the summertime. This is due to the difficulty of shipping our fermented, unpasteurized product during the heat of the summer.
We ship our fermented products unrefrigerated by UPS Ground from Fall through Spring. Our miso is an unpasteurized, living food in continuous fermentation due to its many beneficial, probiotic microorganisms. We ship during the cooler months to minimize expansion and leakage caused by warmth and vibration during shipping.
If some expansion or leakage occurs, this does not affect the quality of the products. Our miso will keep for an unlimited time when refrigerated.
